Evaluation- Question 3
What have you learnt from your audience feedback?
I have learnt several things from my audience feedback. When I first filmed my music video I showed the clips to my class members and they gave me ideas on how to edit it efficiently to make a good music video. A couple weeks later when I finished editing it I showed a few members in my class my video and they gave me more feedback on how I can make it better, such as making sure the cuts to the beat is more on point.
When I finished my video I posted it on the famous Social networking site Facebook to get feedback from my friends, I also messaged them the questionnaire I produced, as I didn’t get a lot of them back I decided to print them out at school and hand them out to my class mates.
I received constructive feedback both positive and negative, I was told to add more effects on my video to make it livelier consequently I went to edited it more.
One of the key questions I asked my focus group was "Have you heard of Tiwa Savage?", and I put the feedback I got into a pie chart.
Red 85% represents no and blue represents yes. 15%
As most of the class did not know who she is it gave me an opportunity to market the artist in my own way through, the music video, Digipak and website.
I also asked “Do you think the editing skills could be improved?” and I got a mixture of different responses. I got the similar response which was to make sure the cut to the beats were more on point. I believe the audience feedback was very effective as it gave me many ideas and I could improve on things I may not have noticed before.
Another question I asked was “Would you recommend this video for a friend to watch?” I got a positive response as many people said yes because the video is different from others they have seen before.
When looking at my target audience I classified them by their class
As students are my main audience I tried to aim for higher classes and the way I did was making my
Evaluation- Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
My media products uses, develop and challenge the forms and conventions of real media products. I did this by paying attention to detail in different music videos and using some of there ideas in my product that I produced.
Conventional methods
I also challenged the forms and conventions by using the ideas from other music videos but displaying them in a different way. In my music video I also used conventional methods, for instance I used a bit of acting to portray the story line of the song which is done in many music videos such as Beyonce’s famous video “If I Were A Boy” to make it look conventional.
My video tells a story of a singer who is in love and wants her boyfriend to show her more love, it starts off with her at work singing then at the end she meets up with him and it ends happy. I have used some unconventional methods in my product by for example I based most of my video in a studio, which is not commonly done in many videos today.
Because my song is an upbeat song I had to edit it and cut the music video to the beat. If I did not do this my video would lose a sense of rhythm as in most video’s today this is done so that the audience won’t be puzzled and feel disconnected. In my music video “Love Me” I used conventions such as-live and lip sync, I looked at several music videos from many different genres from ‘Rock’ to ‘RnB’ and found that this was a key feature used.

Digipak the other images used.
Here are other images edited on Photoshop on my Digipak.
With this image I was inspired by Tiwa Savage's original album cover for the song "Love Me"
I used this image above for my track list and edited it on the former online photo editing service 'Picnik' because I was more familiar with it. The final outcome was

Digipak Planning- Making the front panel
Many front panel digipaks contain a picture of the artist, so I wanted to mirror this on my Digipak. The cover of my front panel is a image of the artist Shola Ali who plays Tiwa Savage in my music video for the song 'Love Me.' The artist has her hand held in a heart shape, this portrays that the main theme of the song is about love.
I took this picture in the TV Studio and used the pink lights to give the picture a brighter effect which will reflect that the song is going to be upbeat and very lively.
I then used photoshop to edit the image.
I wanted to add the title "Love Me" to the cover, and I wanted it to be in distinctive writing. A friend told me about this website called dafont.com where you can get cool range of different fonts, so I went on to this website and produced my text
I used photoshop to place the text unto the cover
I then added my logo which is a red heart onto the image, and this is the final product.
Creating the front cover of my Digipak
For the front cover of my Digipak I am going to have a picture of the main artist holding up an African designed scarf. The reason for this is to convey that the genre the album is going to be with is Afro-Beats, Afro-beats is a mixture of Afro-beat and pop music.
This is the front cover before it being edited on Photoshop.
I used Photoshop to edit the picture
Below you can see my final copy of the picture, I used the text tool on Photoshop to add the artists name "Tiwa Savage". I used the colour red for the title and the reason for this is that red is a strong bold bright colour, this represents the music that will be on the album.
Digipak planning.
I took a range of photo's of my artist to put on my digipak
I am going to use this picture on the fold in panel of my Digipak. As you can see the artist has spots on her forehead so I am going to airbrush them using photoshop.
After the editing on Photoshop the final picture came out like the one below, and as you can see the spots are no longer visable.
Website planning
In class today we looked at a website where you can produce your own website called "wix.com"
We then got shown a website that was created by a member of staff, Dean Waite. http://www.wix.com/deanwaite/dean-waite-illustrations
He introduced us to this website and guided us on the main things we needed to know on how you produce our own website. We has a question and answer session which allowed me to gather up ideas and note down things that he said and did on his website on my own.
Our teacher then directed us to go on to the website in class and familiarise with it. I made a draft website for my school's album
Music video planning
I met up with my artist Shola, who will be playing Tiwa Savage in the music video for 'Love Me.' I showed her the storyboard and the shot list and asked her what she thought about it. She almost added some good idea's which lead to me changing parts of the storyboard and shotlist. We then arranged on what days we are going to film and the costumes and props. I decided that she should have different hairstyles and costumes on different days, as in many current music video's today it is very common for the artist to have several different outfits and hairstyles in the video.
For example in Beyonce's famous 'Countdown' video she has a range of different hairstyles and costumes.
As we can see in the image above Beyonce is wearing different garments, and I believe this is done to make the video look less boring and exciting. This also may have been done to show the audience that Beyonce is a stylish person. I wanted to convey this with my artist as well.

Website Plan- Site Purpose
The purpose of the website is to promote the artist Tiwa Savage's album and her new music video "Love Me". The website offers a brand for the artist and helps the artist market themselves to a wider audience. Essential questions that must be answered in my website are:
>> What is the artist new album about?
>> Who is the artist?
>> What does the artist stand for?
>> What genre is the artist in?

Website planning- Analysing a website
I analysed Rihanna's website. http://www.rihannanow.com/
I noticed that the font was very simple. I believe her website is feminine, because of the range of images of flowers etc. I think her target audience are teenage girls and young adults from ages 14-20.

Music Video Plans
I initially wanted to have some footage for my music video by the end of last month but due to problems. One major problem was that the main artist for my music video was not available to film as she was sick and had appointments etc. I am planning to start filming my music video to Tiwa Savage 'Love Me' next week Monday in the TV studio in my school. I am aiming to have most of the footage by the end of next week, hopefully I will have all my footage by the end of the month due to exams. During the video I am going to take pictures to put on my Digipak, which I plan to also complete by the end of the month.
